Lesley Thompson

Lesley Thompson is a Senior Account Manager at Atlas Insurance Management, and is based in the Cayman Islands. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Finance from Manchester Metropolitan University and has been an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants since 1997. Lesley completed the ACI Designation with the ICCIE in April 2010.

Within commerce and industry, and based in London, Lesley spent four years working in the fields of Property and Publishing. Lesley then moved to Angola, where she spent a year as Finance Manager for an international Shipping and Freight Forwarding company.

In 2000 she relocated to Bermuda and started her career in the Captive Insurance Industry. Lesley joined Aon Insurance Managers, the world’s largest captive insurance manager, where she quickly established herself and assumed responsibility for a number of large and complex captives for Fortune 100 companies. During her time with Aon, Lesley also managed captives domiciled in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

After over 5 years with Aon Insurance Managers, Lesley left Bermuda as Assistant Vice President and joined HSBC Financial Services in the Cayman Islands in 2005. Working for the largest independent insurance manager in the Cayman Islands further exposed Lesley to a variety of companies of varying sizes and complexity. Whilst with HSBC, she became heavily involved in new business and catastrophe bond companies (SPV’s). Lesley left HSBC in 2008 as Assistant Manager.

Lesley joined the Atlas management team in 2008.

Lesley is experienced in all stages of the life cycle of captives, from incorporation to liquidation and also has extensive knowledge of all types of captives including but not limited to Single Parent, Association, Group, Agency, Life, Rent-a-Captive, Segregated Portfolio Companies and Special Purpose Vehicles.
